Jason Zawacki

Coach

Biography

Jason Zawacki’s martial arts journey began after moving to Hawaii as an Infantry soldier assigned to the 25th Infantry Division. During his time here, he met his wife and lived in Hawaii before relocating to Michigan.

In 2009, Jason started cross-training in Jeet Kune Do, Filipino Martial Arts, and Combatives. His Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) path began in early 2015, and in 2016, he found a gym where he dedicated himself to training and eventually coaching. Jason had the privilege of working with amateur and professional MMA fighters, honing their Jiu Jitsu skills. His experience includes training athletes competing in prestigious organizations like the UFC, Bellator, RIZIN, and promotions across the U.S. and globally.

In the summer of 2022, Jason earned his brown belt in BJJ. Around that time, he began traveling and consulting internationally, working with the United States and allied forces to develop combatives programs tailored to Special Operations Forces (SOF) communities. His passion for BJJ has taken him across the U.S. and abroad to train and share his expertise.

Jason returned to Hawaii in May 2023 and soon found his home at United BJJ, where he continues to pursue his love for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
