BRUNO PUCCI
Gym Owner + Head Instructor
Born in Curitiba, Brazil, Bruno Pucci began his BJJ journey at 14, quickly rising through the ranks to become a 2-time No Gi World Champion. After earning his Black Belt at 22, he moved to Singapore to teach and compete in ONE Championship, testing himself against the best in Asia’s premier MMA organization. With over 20 years of experience, Bruno now shares his expertise on Oahu, leading United BJJ Hawaii with the mission of empowering students of all levels through high-quality instruction, discipline, and camaraderie.

ANGELA LEE PUCCI
Gym Owner + Instructor
Angela Lee Pucci, known as “Unstoppable,” is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt and the youngest MMA World Champion in history. Born in Vancouver and raised in Hawaii, Angela started training at a young age and quickly rose to the top, becoming a 6-time ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion. Beyond competition, she is the founder of Fightstory, a nonprofit dedicated to mental health awareness. Now, as a coach and co-founder of United BJJ Hawaii, Angela shares her knowledge and experience, inspiring the next generation of martial artists to unlock their full potential both on and off the mats. Maraya Miller
Instructor
Coach Maraya Miller, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Brown Belt, is a high school wrestling pioneer, former competitive gymnast, and professional MMA fighter since 2021. She has competed for Bellator, won the Hawaiian Rizin tryouts, and secured victories in Fight2Win.
As the first female on Bonita High School’s wrestling team, she earned Most Outstanding Wrestler (2012) and Girls MVP (2013). A dedicated mental health advocate, Maraya has been coaching kids in BJJ, wrestling, kickboxing, and gymnastics since 2012. Her well-rounded experience and passion make her an invaluable addition to the coaching team at United BJJ Hawaii.

Jason Zawacki
Coach
Jason Zawacki’s martial arts journey began after moving to Hawaii as an Infantry soldier assigned to the 25th Infantry Division. During his time here, he met his wife and lived in Hawaii before relocating to Michigan.
In 2009, Jason started cross-training in Jeet Kune Do, Filipino Martial Arts, and Combatives. His Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) path began in early 2015, and in 2016, he found a gym where he dedicated himself to training and eventually coaching. Jason had the privilege of working with amateur and professional MMA fighters, honing their Jiu Jitsu skills. His experience includes training athletes competing in prestigious organizations like the UFC, Bellator, RIZIN, and promotions across the U.S. and globally.
In the summer of 2022, Jason earned his brown belt in BJJ. Around that time, he began traveling and consulting internationally, working with the United States and allied forces to develop combatives programs tailored to Special Operations Forces (SOF) communities. His passion for BJJ has taken him across the U.S. and abroad to train and share his expertise.
Jason returned to Hawaii in May 2023 and soon found his home at United BJJ, where he continues to pursue his love for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.



Shelton Guerrero
Instructor
Born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii, Shelton Guerrero began his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey in the early 2000s. Alongside his BJJ training, he cross-trained in MMA and boxing, competing in Hawaii’s early MMA events, such as Just Scrap.
After relocating to Oahu, Shelton had the opportunity to train under several of Hawaii’s respected black belts. Since the opening of United BJJ Hawaii, Shelton has been a dedicated member of the team, earning both his brown and black belts under the guidance of Head Instructor and co-owner Bruno Pucci.
A passionate competitor, Shelton regularly participates in IBJJF and local tournaments. His recent achievements include winning gold at the San Diego International Open.
Shelton has recently opened United BJJ Kahuku Kids, a Brazilian jiu jitsu academy for kids ages 5 to 13 in Kahuku, Hawaii.

Logan Hackbarth
Assistant Coach
Logan was born and raised on Oahu, where he began his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey at just 7 years old. Throughout his childhood, he trained in other combat sports like pankration, competing both nationally and internationally.
When United BJJ opened its doors in 2020, Logan fully committed to Jiu Jitsu and has been training at the gym ever since. He is an active competitor, regularly participating in IBJJF tournaments and local competitions across Hawaii.
Currently a blue belt, Logan is focused on continuing his competitive journey both locally and overseas while remaining a proud member of the United BJJ Hawaii family.
